About the Owner Ingrid Patel
Leaving her career as a classroom educator, Ingrid founded RedBird Equestrian Riding School.
As an adult, Ingrid learned to ride in multiple disciplines working with trainers ranging from cowboys, to hunter jumpers and even several US Olympians. In Texas, Ingrid practiced colt starting and restarting retired racehorses. She began developing her training methods combing many different styles with a strong focus on horse/ human relationships. Ingrid then moved to Va, working for competitive international rider, Laine Ashker. Learning about the competition world led to her acceptance to the Valenca Classical Riding School in Portugal, where she learned to ride many of the upper level movements such as Piaffe and passage and how to train them.
Since starting her own riding school, Ingrid is currently schooling USDF Third Level Dressage and competing USEA Training Level of Eventing.
Ingrid loves being able to share her diverse knowledge offering many types of lessons including ground work, dressage in hand, and both classical and natural horsemanship techniques to help you creatively problem solve issues with your relationship with your horse.
Ingrid continues to train with top professionals varying from dressage & jumping to barrel racing.
Since founding RedBird, Ingrid has been schooling United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Third Level Dressage and competing United States Eventing Association (USEA) Training Level of Eventing.
She continues to train with top professionals varying from dressage & jumping to barrel racing, and believes it is important so RedBird can offer students, of all ages, the best possible training available!

We are a part of the vast keystone acres in Chesterfield County. Keystone features horse stables, trails, riding and show rings both covered and open, and over 800 acres of land to enjoy and use for your horse riding experience. You will have a horseback experience that truly immerses you in the culture, and promotes your desire to be a better rider!
